Last week was a little crazy because I have transitioned from one part-time job to another. Yes, again... Long story short, waitressing is fun when you are in college - Not so much after you know better. Now, to pay the bills while I am getting Green Cheeks up I will be at a much more relaxing temp position at a local cafe.
It's actually kind of sad. All I accomplished last week with Green Cheeks was 1) I went to a Your Local City meeting and networked (a bit) and 2) finally opened a business checking account. The banks around here have some silly rule that you have to wait 60 days before opening an account. Who knew? Point is, it's done.
So this week I am going to get back into the motions. I have a nice little list of things to do:
- Get the Texas Sales Tax and Use permit
- Get a Texas Resale license
- Follow up with designers and determine their progress on new items
- Get paperwork together for Dallas Market week on June 4th
- Figure out first wholesale orders
- Update URL's
- Write and post 5 useful articles on the Cheeky blog
- Start transferring content to the Green Cheeks website
All is not lost though! I think that I may keep the Green Mannequin as a personal blog. The Cheeky Blog will be 100% business and a little more static. Whereas, this will be a random update of how things are and useful things that I find. I wonder if I just made my life more complicated? Meh...
As things are, I have not had much feedback on this blog - which is rather discouraging. I cannot figure out how some people can keep a blog going when nobody is interacting with it. I know of quite a few, actually. But it seems like a waste of time to me. If it were more casual, then I wouldn't feel so bad. Problem is, blogs only thrive when you regularly (consistently) update it. And I initially started this blog as a business journal... so maybe I would be better off keeping it that way.
I'll have to think about it more during the week.
Ciao~
