First Sale

The first sale for my site, Green Cheeks, was last week... woo hoo, right? Yeah!

Well, not so much a woo hoo right now. Not because it was a bad sale... on the contrary, it was for a decent amount and I haven't had any complaints. But the initial euphoria has worn off.

For some (crazy) reason, I thought it would carry me to the next sale, and the next, and so on...

But I haven't had a sale since then. They'll come. Just not fast enough.

In the meantime I've been trying to find something to stimulate my brain. Namely, catching up on everything else.

It's a funny thing, starting a business. You put so many things on hold... or I did. I was trying too hard to get things just right. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, since I now have a desk full of to-do lists and post-it notes. I spent part of my morning trying to organize them into piles and prioritize them. Fun fun.

Yawn*

The other exciting thing about last week was that I may (possibly) be paid for a consulting gig. A (Austin-ite) friend of mine wants to start a small business and came to me, asking advice. He has been keeping up with me since I started Green Cheeks and sees me as an expert, of sorts. Even offered to pay me for helping him to get started. Good deal... doubtful it will ever materialize.

Same goes for another friend (NY'er) also started asking me about how I started, how to get the licenses, etc... but I think that's more of a favor to him. I doubt I'll ever see any $$ from those phone calls or emails. At the very least, I could use him as a reference (given, if he successfully establishes his business based on my guidance). And that's only if I ever decide to go into consulting for other people, as a regular job (locally).

Sounds fun. Exciting. But I am in a bit of a rut. Joy.

Maybe I should go get some sun.
